Headline Poem 5/27/14 -- Three Guns, Three Counties

Recently, a small UC, Santa Barbara community was rattled by a lone gunman. As we learn more about the shooter and his victims, there are more questions than answers. Here is today's poem.

Three Guns, Three Counties

He purchased all three
legally,
And passed the necessary
tests
To prove he was
sane
Enough. To own not one,
but three.
The assumption was made
That he'd
confess
What the questions may have
missed.
He was given
multiple chances
To play the role of
competent civilian.

Meanwhile,
his family was
Scared to death,
and a sleepy
beachside community
Had no idea
what was coming.
