Headline Poem 10/31/14 -- A lover's tale

A lover's tale

Maybe there's a world that's as flat as my hand where ghosts come to find the sweetest of lands,
fish for treasures among the bears who hibernate through the winter without a care.
I'll sleep like them but when I wake I expect a buffet
and for you to take
the golden rod
of spectacles
and open
the eyes
of all
you meet
in order to
do good
and then
repeat.
