Inspired by Julian of Norwhich
Art inspired by Julian of Norwhich, a christian mystic from the 1300's. She is actually the first published English writer.
Words inspired by life.
I sipped my coffee and awaited for something. She walked in and I knew
it was her.
I smiled.
She smiled back.
She was a familiar stranger,
an older version of myself.
Was that her intention?
Wise, not beyond her years, but because of them, she wore her stories proudly, deeply.
We both knew she was there to deliver a message, so
once she settled into her chair,
I leaned toward her green eyes, smelling skin mixed with summer rain.
"Go ahead," I said. "I'm ready."
She took my right hand and in a voice as clear as Quartz said,
"Do not neglect the ones you love, for if you chase a busy life, you will end up alone." I sighed,
and though her words seemed so obvious, so simple, I stood up, whispered "thank you" and went directly home.

Tired Lady
This is me looking tired as heck. I worked this morning (at my real job, the one that pays my bills and gives me lots of satisfaction), and then came home to my other jobs (that also give me satisfaction) of mom and poet/co-author of what is going to be a KICK ASS #artandwords book! 💛 Making progress...

tide
Like so many photos, I saw this while driving, or passengering, really. My mom was in the driver's seat for this one. We were on Bribie Island, Australia. I saw this boat, and just had to get out of the car. I took some pictures, and now two years later, it is paired with some simple words thanks to my Art and Words partner Sandra. 💙
Rain
Yesterday, it rained. All day. It was glorious. In between drops, I went outside to admire the water on our purple flowers. I ended up taking a lot of pictures. I might actually be ready for a real camera. I use my iphone currently.

For my husband
There is no other
who will come
through our door
with windflowers and sage
to embrace me
with tender hands
and scratchy face
the way you do

Survival
I love how beautiful she is
while she survives
wearing her turns and u-turns on her skin;
exposed for all to see
rippling in wavy lines
swirling with translucent strides.
They drip. from her arms.
They dangle. in the sun.
They swim. like pearls.
and when she is hungry
she swallows them whole
and is full.
