Tonight 

I stopped     and 

closed my eyes 

So that I could hear 

the trees  lose their leaves. #artandwords

you turn me away 

because you say 

i might be dangerous. 

i do not beg you 

to change your mind. 

i cannot expect you 

to not be scared. 

but. 

if 

you close your eyes 

and ask to see 

true beauty,

it will come to you 

in the form

    of my hand 

inside of yours. 

it will come to you 

through 

whispered blood

and sinew 

that moves in 

your body now 

but started 

long ago 

in mine. 

your best self

Breathe in 

the air 

of uncertainty 

and vanity 

and irresponsibility 

and breathe out 

your

best self
