Headline Poem 10/1/14 -- Game Day

Game Day 

Silver dollars and slimy snails 

pave the way for 

the contentious masterpiece 

of shovels and shoulders 

and dry heat. 

I shudder to think 

of the power you hoard,

but I'm letting you keep it 

till morning.
