has anyone ever told you you're prettier when you smile? 

Moons Like Magic

Happy Earth Day!

in honor of our mother, 

we 

lower our hemlines 

so that they too 

may kiss the grass. 

we raise

our leaves,

enthralled in

whispered conversations

    full of small things 

that mean so much. 

we speak 

in tongues of glistening 

jade and aquamarine 

   and we listen to 

legends sprinkled with 

agate and 

topped with gold. 

  together

  (it's the only way we know)

we smile and 

      promise to always 

    gather under silver moons

where truth is spoken

         but never sold.
